7. OVERVIEW

7.1. SERVICE PROCESS

A typical Bed & Breakfast’s service process is similar to that of a normal hotel and revolves around the interaction between the customer and the Bed & Breakfast - from the inquiries and bookings when the customer is preparing his or her trip to the end point where the customer leaves the Bed & Breakfast after his or her sojourn.
Amongst others, the process encompasses the following activities:

Enquiries and booking by the prospective customer
Confirmation of booking by the Bed & Breakfast
Saving or registration of customer details and scheduling of arrivals
Reception on arrival and checking in of the customer. In many cases payment is made before the customer is given the keys to the room whereas in others the customer is expected to pay at the end of his stay
Occupation of the facility for the assigned period. The customer uses the facilities allocated inside of his or her fees while in certain instances the customer would have to pay for other facilities
Payment of unpaid invoices and checking out of the customer when the term of their visit period has lapsed
